Initially named as University College of North Wales from 1884 to 1996 and University of Wales from 1996 to 2007. This time the university was independent of University of Wales and names as Bangor University in 2007
Sport Scholarships at Bangor University
Moreover, Bangor University is supporting and encouraging sports and athletic talents to move ahead with combining their sporting development and academic achievements together but this scholarship program is not limited to any sports or courses. But the preferences will be given to those candidates who have the potential to represent Bangor University in British University and College Sport (BUCS) competition. Other applicants and scholars can still apply for the scholarship.
Eligibility
i. Firstly, You must be European, Commonwealth or world-class competitor on any sports. Similarly, potential to achieve podium or scoring point would be plus benefit
ii. In addition to that, you must not have any history of disciplinary charges and doping infraction in any sport.
iii. On the other hand, you must not hold any funding and scholarships from before
Amount of Scholarship
The scholarship amount is up to £3,000 per year.
Application process
In order to participate in Sports Scholarship program, students need to fill out the scholarship application form and submit before the deadline.
Applications deadlines
There are two application windows for this scholarship program: one is for fresher and second is to existing students.
For fresher, the deadline is 31st March of the entry year
For existing and late entry students, deadline is 31st October of the particular academic year.
