University of Sydney is an Australian public research university. “Though the constellations are changed, the mind is the same” ; this is the motto of the university. Established in 1850, the university is Australia’s first university as well as one of the world’s leading universities. Above all, it is ranked in 42nd position in the QS World University Rankings 2019 and in 3rd position in Australia. The university comprises 9 faculties and university schools, through which it offers bachelor, master as well as doctoral degrees. Furthermore, the university has affiliations with Five Nobel  and two Crafoord laureates.

University of Sydney offers various scholarhips to its students on the basis of academics, equity and also faculty. Range of scholarships are available for university undergraduates, graduates and international students, for instance, Sydney Scholars Awards, University of Sydney Access Scholarships, David Clarke Memorial Scholarship and more. Likewise, there is the Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships for international students. The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are awarded to exceptional international students based on academic merit. The eligibility is assessed from a student’s application for admission rather than a separate scholarship application.

Eligibility for Scholarship

The Scholarship is open to all commencing international students, who have an unconditional offer of admission. In addition, the student must be enrolling in a full time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney. Similarly, the student must also enrol by the deadline set.

Worth

The scholarship has four amounts

  • $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments
  • $20,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments
  • $10,000 payable for one semester
  • $5,000 payable for one semester

Applying for the Scholarship

There is no separate application for this scholarship, considerations are automatic for eligible students.

Scholarship Offer Details

To qualify, secure an Unconditional Offer of Admission before the following dates:

Semester 2

  • 06 April – Round 1
  • 04 May – Round 2
  • 08 June – Round 3

While for Semester 1

  • 05 October – Round 1
  • 07 December – Round 2
  • 11 January – Round 3

Successful applicants will be notified approximately 4 weeks after the round closing date.
