Fully Funded Scholarships in Canada 2020

Applications have opened for the Fully Funded Scholarships at the University of British Columbia. Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship now. The University is providing scholarships for Ph.D. fellowship in any field of research.

Eligibility for Fully Funded Scholarships at the University of British Columbia

  • Candidates applying for Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship must have completed their Ph.D. and all of its requirements no longer than 2 years prior to the start date of the fellowship.
  • Additionally, Ph.D. requirements generally include thesis defense corrections and thesis deposition although they vary with each institution/ degree type.
  • Furthermore, for applicants who had interruptions/delays in their career due to illness or health-related family responsibilities, child-rearing, eligibility period may be extended to a maximum of one year.
  • Also, the interruptions/delays must have occurred post completion of all the Ph.D. requirements.
  • Applicants for Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship must not have studied Ph.D. at any campus of the University of British Columbia.
  • Additionally, applicants must not be continuing faculty or holding a tenure-track at a university/college while those holding a temporary term or non-tenure track appointments can apply.
  • Likewise, candidates of any nationality can apply but successful ones must meet all the Canadian immigration requirements.

Selection Criteria

  • Excellence in scholarly work and independent research sums up to 60% weight of the application.
  • Additionally, the quality of the proposed research project is of 30% weight in the application.
  • Also, the rest 10% is based on the applicant’s personal qualities.

Value of Scholarship

  • The successful applicants of the University of British Columbia – Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Canada, will receive:
    • An annual stipend of CAD 50,000 for up to two years.
    • Also, travel and Research allowance of CAD 4,000.
