Maastricht University (UM) and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) have a cooperative agreement for providing high quality research training to qualified students from Chinese universities and research institutions. You can also apply through the CSC General Program.
Benefits of Fully Funded Scholarships at Maastricht
- There is NO tuition fee for CSC scholars wishing to enter a PhD position at UM.
- Additionally, the student will receive the equivalent of 400 euro funding for 12 months for which the University will provide accommodation at UM Housing. Also, this is not a cash funding.
- Furthermore, the University will take the supervision of each student seriously to make sure they finish within the restricted time of 4 years. There are always two supervisors involved in the guidance of each student.

Maastricht University is a public university in Maastricht, Netherlands. Founded in 1976, it is the second youngest of the thirteen Dutch universities. Additionally, in 2019, 19,000 students studied at Maastricht University, 54% of whom were foreign students, with over 4,000 employees. About half of the bachelor’s program are fully offered in English, while the other half is taught wholly or partly in Dutch. Most of the master’s and doctoral program are in English.
