Position Summary
Employed on a per-load-unit basis for a given semester or term. Sole contracted responsibilities are those activities required in the delivering of a course (e.g., preparation, creating course in Canvas, classroom teaching, grading, office hours, etc.). Also, in some instances, there may be some contracted responsibilities for meeting other departmental needs.
Responsibilities
Teach one or more accelerated graduate level courses which includes all activities required in the delivering of a course (e.g. preparation, maintaining availability for students, grading, etc.). Likewise, Learning Management System (LMS) training must also be completed prior to delivering a course.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree; terminal degree preferred.
- Also, one to two years of teaching experience in a college or university setting
- Likewise, demonstrates mastery of Physical Therapy subject matter.
- Supports teaching with evidence-based inquiry methods.
- Additionally, articulates the value of occupation.
- Participates in continue education opportunities and demonstrates current knowledge of the profession.
- Furthermore, demonstrates ability to engage students in active learning and understands the importance of holistic education.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Similarly, expected to model integrity and ethical behavior and to maintain accepted standards of professional conduct.
- Also, ability to work collaboratively with program director, faculty and staff
- Supportive of the educational and Christian mission of the University.
- Likewise, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The Program
Advancing the mission of Messiah University, the School of Graduate Studies educates students for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, ethical leadership and exceptional professional practice within a complex world. The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at Messiah University is a developing program; matriculating its 3rd cohort of students. Similarly, autonomous doctors of physical therapy who are competent to practice in diverse settings.
