About the Scholarship
Michael and Saki Ruth Dockrill, former professors at King’s, created this scolarship. Professor Michael Dockrill joined the Department of War Studies at King’s in 1971 and remained until his retirement in 2001. He was one of only a handful of staff who sustained the Department for the better part of two decades.
In the early 1980s, he met Saki Ruth, a postgraduate student in the War Studies Department, who had her own keen interest in post-war European history. Saki went on to make her name as a leading international historian.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
- you should be undertaking your first undergraduate degree;
- Additionally, you should be a home fee status student resident;
- Also, you should be undertaking the BA War Studies programme for 2020 entry;
- Likewise, have an assessed household income of GBP 42,500 pa or less;
- have taken up your maximum entitlement to UK government help with tuition fees and loans/grants for living costs;
- Similarly, you must have given Student Finance England ‘consent’ to share your financial information with the College;
- Furthermore, have ‘firmly’ accepted an offer of a place at King’s on an eligible programme.
Value of Scholarship
One scholarship is available for the 2020-21 intake. The total value of the award is GBP 50,000: GBP 9,250 per year for three years to support tuition fees and a stipend of GBP 7,416 per year for three years. Repeat years, interruptions, intercalating, and study abroad years are not covered.
