Eligibility for Care Leavers Bursary
In order to be eligible:
- you must be under 25 years of age and will have been in care for at least 13 weeks after the age of 14
- Also, your household income must meet all of the criteria
- Likewise, you must be a UK or EU student
- Also, you must be paying full tuition fees (therefore NHS-funded students and students who are being funded are not eligible)
- Additionally, you must also have correctly filled out and submitted your application to Student Finance England/Student Finance European Team for a loan and must also make sure that you and your parent/guardian have given your consent to share the information with the University.
Value of Scholarship
- The University of Surrey offers a minimum bursary of GBP 1,000 to qualifying students.
The University will award the bursary in every year of undergraduate study if the recipient progresses normally on the program and excluding the Professional Training year or repeat periods of study.
