Each year the Research School of Earth Sciences offers an award known as the Ross Taylor PhD Supplementary Scholarship in Geochemistry. Additionally, generous donations from associates of Ross Taylor, and matching School funds provide the funding for this scholarship.

Overview

Professor Taylor has made an outstanding contribution in geochemistry and as a pioneer of lunar science. His work spans the moon, the Earth’s continental crust, island arc rocks and beyond. Also, fifty years ago, the Canberra scientist Professor Ross Taylor made one of the big discoveries about the nature of the moon. Furthermore, NASA chose Professor Taylor as the best person to analyse the first moon rocks brought back by Apollo 11.

Eligibility for ANU Ross Supplementary Scholarships 

  • a domestic or international student; and
  • Likewise, enrolled or enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Earth Sciences at the ANU.

Benefits

Supplementary Scholarship of $8,000 per annum, paid fortnightly in arrears.

There is no application as  the University automatically considers students based on meeting the eligibility criteria or conditions prescribed under the Eligibility section.
