        Yeah, University of Maryland does provide scholarships based on merit. Here are some of them:

        President’s Scholarship
        Total Worth: $2,000 to $12,500 per year
        Eligibility: $2,000 to $12,500 per year
        Requirement for maintenance: A minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA; successfully complete 30 credits per academic year
        Separate application needed: No

        Dean’s Scholarship
        Total Worth: $1,500 for one year , or $4,500 for each of the first two years
        Eligibility: $1,500 for one year , or $4,500 for each of the first two years
        Requirement for maintenance: A minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA; successfully complete 30 credits per academic year
        Separate application needed: No

        Frederick Douglass Scholarship
        Total Worth: $5,000 per year
        Eligibility: $5,000 per year
        Minimum Criteria: completed 56 or more credits or have an Associates of Arts degree and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better
        Requirement for maintenance: A minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA; successfully complete 30 credits per academic year
        Separate application needed: Yes
        Application deadline: March 1

      • University of Maryland provides aids at an average of 11813 per student meeting 64% of students need. 100% of students with need receive financial aid at an average of 3481 need-based grant. They also provide other scholarships including Swopsmart Scholarship and David Ghozland Scholarship Program.
