        Yeah, Sonoma State University does provide scholarships based on merit. Here are some of them:

        University Scholarship Program
        Total Worth: $500 to $5,000 per year
        Eligibility: $500 to $5,000 per year
        Requirement for maintenance: a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale
        Separate application needed: Yes
        Application deadline: February 1

        Sonoma State University provides aids at an average of 10004 per student meeting 54% of students need. 93% of students with need receive financial aid at an average of 936 need-based grant. They also provide other scholarships including Theatre Arts & Dance, Music Scholarships and Athletic Talent Awards.
