Overview

Western Institute services more than half the area of NSW, including some of Australia’s most isolated and remote communities, and manages over 32,000 student enrolments each year. Training is delivered on-site in the workplace with 24 campuses at Bathurst, Bourke, Brewarrina, Broken Hill, Cobar, Condobolin, Coonamble, Cowra, Dubbo, Dunedoo, Forbes, Gilgandra, Grenfell, Lighting Ridge, Lithgow, Menindee, Mudgee, Nyngan, Orange, Parkes, Walgett, Warren, Wellington and Wilcannia.

The courses offered includes certificate, diploma and advanced diploma in career related skills programmes for those who would like to start or enhance their skills. The credits earned could be transferred to universities as well. It offers a wide variety of courses in industries ranging from health, welfare and hospitality, to agriculture and mining, and small business.

An increasing proportion of Western Institute’s courses are offered flexibly and online to meet the diverse needs of the region’s communities and industries. These delivery options allow students throughout western NSW to choose from a wide selection of vocational courses and to learn in a range of ways that suit work, time and travel demands.
