The University of Wollongong (abbreviated as UOW) is an Australian public research university located in the coastal city of Wollongong, New South Wales.

Wollongong offers over 120 different undergraduate degrees from across its five faculties, in engineering and IT, health sciences and medicine, business and commerce, applied and natural sciences, arts, communications and creative arts, and law and education. These programs may be undertaken through the bachelor’s degree or bachelor’s with honors program. Wollongong also has more than 50 double-degree programs available.

The undergraduate student experience at Wollongong is further enriched through an international exchange semester at one of the university’s 190 partner universities around the world. Overseas internships are also in place for students as Wollongong has developed partnerships with international industries.

The University of Wollongong aims to help overseas students in their stay in Australia through various support programs. Before they come to Australia, the university orients international students on documents that must be packed, phone and computer availability, time zone, and flights. Wollongong also offers assistance in finding the right accommodation. Accommodation options include temporary accommodation, on-campus, homestay, and private rental.

The university offers a complimentary airport pick-up service for all newly enrolled International UOW students upon their arrival. A compulsory orientation as well as a campus tour is held in the week immediately before the start of a session. This allows international students to make new friends and settle into Wollongong before lectures begin. Aside from all these, the university also offers international student scholarships.

Undergraduate, and postgraduate coursework and research scholarships are on offer at the university. Students can apply for these scholarships based on several criteria such as academic merit, leadership/community involvement, sports involvement, current financial need, and economic status.

International students are also given priority at Wollongong through their scholarship program. International students may apply for the undergraduate excellence scholarship and faculty merit scholarship. Other scholarships include those that are funded by international agencies, organizations, and governments.

Other Details We established our UOW Campus in Liverpool in 2017 to extend the educational offerings available to students within this region, allowing you to get a world-class education on your doorstep. With the Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship, we seek to inspire a new generation of young, local, passionate leaders and give them the knowledge, skills and world views to be the future leaders of the of the South Western Sydney region. This includes students who live in the local government areas of Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool and Canterbury-Bankstown. This scholarship will challenge you to develop leadership potential alongside a network of like-minded students striving to create positive change. It will also provide generous financial assistance, leadership training, dedicated academic support, community networking, and global mobility opportunities. Scholars will be selected based on academic achievement and leadership potential.
2024 Business Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship
Total Worth $2,500 per annum
Eligibility and Requirements Recipients must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder. Recipients must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship Recipients must remain enrolled in an eligible undergraduate degree at any onshore campus at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship. Recipients must receive an ATAR of 80+ Recipients must receive an offer to UOW in Autumn 2024 through UAC for an eligible degree and maintain enrolment in one of the following courses; Bachelor of Professional Accounting Bachelor of Business Bachelor of Business Administration Bachelor of Economics & Finance, Bachelor of Business/Master of Business, Bachelor of Business/Master of Business Analytics, Bachelor of Economics & Finance/Master of Business Analytics, Bachelor of Economics & Finance/Master of Business Recipients must be commencing first year of enrolment in 2024. The scholarship cannot be deferred Recipients cannot hold the Country to Coast Scholarship concurrently with this scholarship Recipients must have completed their HSC in 2023

2024 Albion Park RSL Memorial Club Scholarship

Eligibility and Requirements Successful applicants must remain enrolled in an undergraduate degree at any onshore campus at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship. Successful applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Wollongong for the duration of this scholarship. Successful applicants must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder. Applicants are required to demonstrate community involvement via submission of a written statement. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. UOW also takes into consideration the following forms of educational disadvantage and applicant attributes when awarding equity scholarships: carer responsibilities; English language difficulty; long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse; regional or remote disadvantage; sole parent responsibilities; refugee status and Indigenous Australians. Applicants must have completed their HSC and/or currently live in the City of Shellharbour LGA.
