Overview

The University of Canberra (UC) is a public university located in Bruce, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. It educates students for approximately 30 different professions, among them information technology, management, law, accounting, engineering, teaching, modern languages, marketing, journalism, design, architecture, biomedical science, psychology, nursing, environmental science and sports studies. UC has one of the highest employment rates for graduates in Australia. Courses are organized within three Academic Divisions: Business, Law and Information Sciences, Communication and Education and Health, Design and Science.

UC offers full-time and part-time courses at undergraduate and graduate level. A variety of short courses are available through its professional development programs. The University also provides a full range of professional education services to meet the training and development needs of organizations such as professional bodies and government departments.

Canberra offers different pathway programs for students such as diplomas, UC connect, UC prep, UC start and UCan reach. Undergraduate students can take part in the University of Canberra student exchange program or study abroad which allows them to advance their academic studies while developing a greater understanding of different cultures.

The University of Canberra cares about the wellbeing of their overseas students thus the university has created a wide-range of support programs. Prior to coming to Australia, students are provided information about student visa application, booking flights, arranging for accommodation and packing important documents. Students are given advice about accommodation options. They may opt for temporary or short term accommodation, on-campus accommodation and off campus accommodation.

The annual tuition fees are $24,500 for business courses, $23,740 for Arts/Education, and $21,610 for Engineering/Science.

Canberra has a wide range of scholarships to suit different needs, situations and study interests of students. Every student is eligible: domestic, international, undergraduate and postgraduate. Students who have high academic capacity and research aptitude can apply for honors and postgraduate scholarships.

The university offers higher degree by research scholarships to enable suitably qualified students to undertake full-time study towards a research higher degree. Selection is based on academic merit and research potential. International, study abroad and external scholarships are also available at Canberra.
