Details | The Black and Latino Alumni Network have been inspired by the way in which financial support contributed to their ability to complete their studies at the University. In the spirit of paying it forward, it became important to them to extend their hand to help others of similar backgrounds who may also be facing struggles and challenges that could impede their academic success. Be an Undergraduate student, enrolled full time (minimum of 12 credits/semester). Demonstrate high academic achievement with preference given to an incoming freshmen with a minimum HS GPA of 90. When awarding to a Continuing or Transfer student, preference will be given to those with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. For retention purposes, the student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Demonstrate financial need as determined by a current FAFSA application, reviewed and confirmed by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. Students should also demonstrate commitment to civic engagement and social responsibility. Some examples of civic engagement include, but are not limited to, participation in voter registration and volunteering in groups that demonstrate commitment to community and society as a whole. |
