Federation University Australia (FedUni) is a public, dual-sector university based in Ballarat in Victoria, Australia. The university also has campuses in Ararat, Horsham, Stawell, Churchill, and Berwick, as well as online technical and further education (TAFE) courses and Horsham’s Higher Education Nursing program. A multitude of students study a variety of 50 specialised areas in nine specialist schools. The University’s five campuses support its range of subjects with a personalised learning environment unrivalled by any other tertiary institution in Australia.
FedUni offers an extensive range of undergraduate degrees that allow students to pursuit their interests. The areas of study include building and construction, business, education, engineering, hospitality and tourism, information technology, nursing, social sciences and visual and performing arts. FedUni is a good place to study because it offers industry-relevant programs, an accessible teaching staff and a supportive environment.
The university also has a range of study options available which includes on-campus, distance learning and online learning education. As for entry requirements, undergraduate students are assessed competitively on the basis of Australian Year 12, or equivalent overseas school qualifications. Students with post-school qualifications may be considered for admission through recognition of prior learning.
Federation University offers a wide range of support services for overseas students to help ensure that they live comfortably while staying in Australia. The university provides a pre-arrival guide with information about a complete list of important documents to bring and accommodation and living expenses.
Once students are fully settled, orientations and social events and activities are scheduled for students. This is to enable them to meet other students and faculty members. Peer support and mentoring programs as well as an international support office are available to cater to the needs of international students. Scholarships for international students are granted to those who meet the eligibility requirements.
The annual undergraduate tuition fees are $24,700 for business courses, $23,300 for Arts/Education, and $28,800 for Engineering/Science.
FedUni awards scholarships to new and continuing students across vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate program areas. External scholarships are available at FedUni and are sponsored by the Australian government, organizations and partner industries/institution.
The university also offers school-specific scholarships for the federation business school, faculty of education and arts, faculty of health and faculty of science and technology. For students undertaking research degrees, they are also awarded scholarships which may include a stipend and financial support for their research.

Other Details | It is understood that final Year 12 results will not be known prior to application closing date. When endorsing applications the principal is asked to consider the student's VCE performance to date. Submitting an application does not guarantee that the student will receive a Year 12 scholarship. The Federation University Australia Scholarship selection panel will consider nominations received and make a decision on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. Successful applications will be made a provisional scholarship offer. To receive the scholarship, student must be enrolled in an Undergraduate program at a FedUni campus as at 31 March 2019. In the event that a successful applicant elects to defer their place, the scholarship will not be awarded. An award ceremony will be held in April/May 2019 and a certificate will be presented at this time. |

Eligibility and Requirements | Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate nursing, visual arts or biomedical science degree at FedUni at the time of applying for, and if successful, at the time of receipt of the Scholarship. Candidates must have successfully completed their first year of a nursing, visual arts or biomedical science degree and be enrolled in the second year of the course. Both full-time and part-time students from these study areas are eligible for these awards. Candidates must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia. |
