Abertay University is one of two public universities in the city of Dundee, Scotland. Established in 1888 as Dundee Institute of Technology, it was one of the first to be designated a central institution, akin to an ‘industrial university’. Abertay gained University status in 1994.

Abertay launched the world’s first computer games degree in 1997.
